On Nov. 18, 1992, Beth Anne Brodie was at a friend's home that right by her own home. 16 year old Richard Baldwin then came to the home to see Beth. The two teens had dated shortly over the summer and Baldwin had become obsessed with Beth. They went to the same high school and had also attended the same junior high school. Baldwin wanted to date Beth but she refused. That day, she made it clear to him that she was not interested. Young Baldwin then asked the friend, Sky, if she could leave the room so he could speak to Beth privately. Sky left them alone and Baldwin began to attack Beth. He beat her to death with a baseball bat. The force he used was so strong that she died after two blows to the head.
